Bangaloretelecom.com hacked!!!

It seems Bangalore Telecom website, bangaloretelecom.com was hacked, or atleast there was an attempt to inject malicious script, gumblar.cn (has been blacklisted by Google).
See the screenshot below

Gumblar.cn exploit is usually injected right before the tag and when the script is executed (every time someone visits the infected web page), another script from “gumblar . cn/rss/” is silently loaded and executed.

Incidentally, 95% of the sites infected by this exploit uses PHP (bangaloretelecom too).

Update: 1. The payload sits silently and then sends a payload containing a PDF, and several other mime-types which could launch a windows application with a security hole and then look for stored passwords and other sensitive information. I am not aware whether it compromises data on the server as well.

2. Also, if you reload the same page, you may not see the script the second time (probably it does something through the PHP session)

Honda launches CBF Stunner FI

o

Hnda today launched the CBF Stunner Fuel Injection (FI) in India. Honda is already selling the CBF Stunner FI in europe. The new stunner FI pumps out 11bhp of peak power and 11Nm of peak torque. Honda CBF Stunner FI is priced at Rs64,630 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Last fiscal we sold about 10.7 lakh units of two-wheelers and this year we are targeting 12 per cent increase at 12.5 lakh units. And the CBF Stunner will play an important role,” HMSI Chief Executive Officer Shinji Aoyamas said.

Basic specifications of the Honda Stunner CBF are as follows:

125cc, 11 bhp

Kerb Weight: 129 kg
Wheelbase: 1271mm
Fuel tank capacity: 10 litres

Tubeless tryes
Front 80/100-17 and Rear: 100/90-77
Front Brakes: 240mm Disc or 130mm Drum
Rear Brake: 130mm drum

Starting: Kickstart / Electric

5 speed transmission
Trip meter

Honda claims acceleration figures of 0-60 kmph at 5.2 seconds for the CBF Stunner. Take it with a pinch of salt, the motorcycle weighs 129 kg, and even the iconic Yamaha RX 100 could not do that. It will be good, we are sure though.

Honda intends to sell 10 lakh motorcycles during 2008-2009 fiscal year, out of which the company expects 80,000 to be CBF Stunner motorcycles. Honda has priced the Stunner CBF bike between Rs 47,070 and Rs 51,655 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

Apart from the CBF Stunner, the company also has lined up measures to roll out two more new motorcycle models in 2008. Plus, there is an 800 cc motorcycle from Honda in the pipeline for India, though details are sketchy at this moment. We hear the 800 cc motorcycle would be priced above Rs 10 lakh, and that is real close the just-launched Suzuki Hayabusa.

Honda had posted sales figures of of 9.07 lakh units in the previous fiscal, aims at selling as many as 3 lakh motorcycles and 7 lakh scooters this fiscal.

The bike major which had plans to come up with a new manufacturing facility seems to have put such plans in the backburner and is focusing on improving sales. The company currently boasts of a production capacity of 1.2 million units.

Sukhoi Su-47 awesome plane!!!

The Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut is a 5th generation Russion Fighter Plane. Berkut stands for Golden Eagle in Russian. It's still an experimental supersonic jet fighter developed by Sukhoi Aviation Corporation.Originally known as the S-37, Sukhoi redesignated its advanced test aircraft as the Su-47 in 2002. Officially nicknamed Berkut (Golden Eagle), the Su-47 was originally built as Russia's principal testbed for composite materials and sophisticated fly-by-wire control systems. The aircraft makes use of forward-swept wings allowing superb maneuverability and operation at angles of attack up to 45° or more.

TsAGI has long been aware of the advantages of forward-swept wings, with research including the development of the Tsibin LL and study of the captured Junkers Ju 287 in the 1940s. Forward-swept wings yield a higher maximum lift coefficient, reduced bending moments, and delayed stall when compared to more traditional wing shapes. At high angles of attack, the wing tips remain unstalled allowing the aircraft to retain aileron control. Unfortunately, forward sweep also induces twisting (divergence) strong enough to rip the wings off an aircraft built of conventional materials. Only recently have composite materials made the design of aircraft with forward-swept wings feasible.

The project was launched in 1983 on order from the USSR AF. But then, with the crash of the USSR funding was frozen and development continued only being funded by Sukhoi. Like its US counterpart, the Grumman X-29, the Su-47 is primarily a technology demonstrator, one intended to lay the foundation for the next Russian fighter. Such a fighter must not only be as advanced as the US F-22 Raptor, but must also compete for funding with the more conventional MiG 1.44. However, Sukhoi is now attempting to market the Su-47 to the Russian military and foreign customers as a production fighter in its own right.

The Su-47 is of similar dimensions to previous large Sukhoi fighters, such as the Su-35. To reduce development costs, the Su-47 borrowed the forward fuselage, vertical tails, and landing gear of the Su-27family. Nonetheless, the aircraft includes reduced radar signature features (including radar absorbent materials), an internal weapons bay, and space set aside for an advanced radar. Though similar in overall concept to the American X-29 research aircraft of the 1980s, the Su-47 is about twice the size and far closer to an actual combat aircraft than the US design.

To solve the problem of wing-twisting, the Su-47 makes use of composite materials carefully tailored to resist twisting while still allowing the wing to bend for improved aerodynamic behavior. Due to its comparatively large wingspan, the Su-47 is to be equipped with folding wings, in order to fit inside Russian hangars.

Like its immediate predecessor, the Su-37, the Su-47 is of tandem-triplane layout, with canards ahead of wings and tailplanes. Interestingly, the Su-47 has two tailbooms of unequal length outboard of the exhaust nozzles. The shorter boom, on the left-hand side, houses rear-facing radar, while the longer boom houses a brake parachute.

World's first camera

The world's first camera, a sliding wooden box, along with over 20 cameras of early times is on display. The Invention of Photography and the Earliest Photographs of Macao, China", an exhibition showcasing old photos and cameras, including the world's first camera, was opened Friday at the Macao Museum.

The exhibition, which will last till August 23, was co- organized by the Macao Museum and the Nicephore Niepce Museum in France. A total of 250 photography antiques and 180 old photos, which were collections lent by the Nicephore Niepce Museum and 12 other museums, cultural institutions and private collectors in France, the UK, the U.S. and Macao, according to the Cultural Institute of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), which runs the Macao Museum.

The world's first camera, a sliding wooden box, along with over 20 cameras of early times were borrowed from the Nicephore Niepce Museum. As for photos, some of Macao's earliest photos, such as "A- Ma Temple, Macao" ,"Praia Grande", and other landscape shootings on daguerreotype, were on display in the exhibition.

It was until 1827 did Frenchman Joseph Nicphore Nipce successfully fixed image on a metal plate for the first time in human history, making himself the "father of photography". Photography was later introduced to China from France via Macao, as the earliest photos of China presently found were taken in Macao in 1844 by Jules Itier from France, according to the information from the organizer of the exhibition.
